The 2026 edition is currently under development and is tentatively centered on the theme of conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa, approached through a multifocal and multidisciplinary lens. Conflict will not be treated solely as a moment of rupture, but as an entry point to interrogate broader dynamics involving youth and new generations, political mobilizations, struggles around resources, and the long-term historical trajectories that shape contemporary tensions.
Within this framework, the program intends to engage both macro-level analyses (such as, for instance, geopolitical, economic or historical interpretations) and micro-level, ethnographically grounded perspectives attentive to everyday practices of negotiation, resilience and meaning-making.
The scientific committee is currently being finalized and includes scholars from various social science disciplines at the University of Turin, alongside researchers from partner institutions. We are currently defining the thematic sessions and selecting the faculty members who will lead the 2026 program. The complete list of contributors and the final syllabus will be published shortly
