Gaia Delpino (Ph.D) is a cultural anthropologist specialized in African studies and anthropology of contemporaneity. She researched in Ghana on topics related to memory, cultural heritage, the Atlantic world and the so-called roots tourism . Since 2017 at the MUCIV-Museum of Civilizations, Gaia Delpino is curator of the collection of African Arts and Cultures and of the collection coming from the former Colonial Museum of Rome. On both collections she promotes participatory processes and interdisciplinary research aimed at studying their history, provenances, meanings and narratives. Gaia Delpino participates in national and international projects related to the study, conservation, accessibility and dissemination of the Museum of Civilizations’ African collections.

Charlotte Mafumbo is a Lecturer at Makerere University and Acting Head of Department History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies. She is a distinguished scholar, practitioner and an expert in policy development on women, peace and security, counter terrorism, violent extremism, human rights and peacebuilding across various cultural and organizational contexts. She researches Intangible heritage and indigenous knowledge amongst rural communities and has just completed a research project on Archives, Memory and Method which focused on the preservation of indigenous knowledge practices of “Traditional Birth Attendants” She holds a Ph.D. (University of Cape Town), a Master of International Studies (University of Sydney), Postgraduate Certificate in Gender and Armed Conflict Studies, (Hannover University), and Postgraduate Diploma in Social Conditions and Policies of Copenhagen University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art of Makerere University. She is a 2012 Global South Scholar of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. She has published several journal articles, book chapters, and several consultancy reports.
