TOAfrica is an interdisciplinary social sciences programme on contemporary Africa based at the University of Turin, Italy. It promotes a deeper understanding of the African continent and its diasporas by combining academic teaching with public engagement and creating spaces for dialogue between research, professional practice, and society.

The programme brings together students, early-career researchers, academics, practitioners, and members of the wider public through a range of educational and cultural activities held throughout the year. 

At the heart of the programme is the TOAfrica Summer School, an intensive one-week course taught in English at the University of Turin. Each edition focuses on a different theme and offers participants the opportunity to engage with international scholars and practitioners through lectures, discussions, and collaborative learning.

Throughout the year, TOAfrica also organizes a series of Events such as seminars, public talks, and community-oriented initiatives, fostering dialogue, critical reflection, and knowledge sharing across different perspectives.
