Cacao amaro: filiere globali e responsabilità condivise

The Orizzonti Sostenibili public outreach series opened with a discussion on the cocoa supply chain in Africa, organized by TOAfrica in collaboration with CISAO (Interdepartmental Centre for African Studies, University of Turin), Binaria, and DISAFA (Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences, University of Turin). The discussion featured Andrea Mecozzi (consultant on cocoa and chocolate value chains in Africa and Latin America), Ervé Dobinou (Director of Chocoplus, Côte d'Ivoire), and Giuseppina Piccigallo (Director of the Domori production plant), and was moderated by Leone De Vita (Gruppo Abele). The event examined the social, economic, and environmental challenges of the Ivorian cocoa sector, including child labour, deforestation, and ethical certification, while reflecting on the responsibilities of businesses, institutions, and consumers in promoting more equitable value chain.
