On May 16th, Makerere University in Kampala inaugurated the photo exhibition Connecting Cultures, celebrating 46 years of the Italian Ethnological Mission in Equatorial Africa. The exhibition, hosted by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, highlights decades of research collaboration between the University of Turin and Makerere University, exploring identity, migration, and cultural heritage in the Great Lakes Region. The current project, Mobility, Migrations and Refugees in East Africa, focuses on refugee dynamics in Uganda. The initiative also includes museum partnerships to promote African heritage.
